Juan Carlos Andrade Giraldo · Colombia
Juan Carlos Andrade Giraldo was General Manager of Magna Motors for the Bajaj brand in the Dominican Republic, leading the commercial and operational expansion of one of the most iconic brands in the motorcycle market in Asia. With more than 17 years of experience in the automotive sector, his career has been marked by strategic execution, the transformation of after-sales models and the comprehensive management of operations in complex multinational contexts.
At Grupo UMA we understood that after-sales isn't a cost, it's a lever for loyalty.
A Materials Engineer from Universidad del Valle in Colombia, Juan Carlos complemented his technical training with an MBA from Universidad ICESI, a certificate in International Business Strategy from George Mason University and an executive program in Commercial Management at Universidad de Los Andes. This solid academic foundation has allowed him to build an executive profile with strategic vision, commercial focus and deep technical knowledge of the automotive value chain.
Magna Motors integrated the spare parts chain as a strategy, not as a reaction.
For more than a decade, he developed his career at Fanalca, the assembler and distributor of Honda Motos in Colombia. There he held positions such as After-Sales Service Manager, Commercial Manager of the Distribution Network and Development Planning Lead, achieving the localization of motorcycle parts, the implementation of continuous improvements in manufacturing and the strengthening of the national service network.
He later took on regional responsibilities at Grupo UMA, where he led the construction of Bajaj's after-sales network in Colombia, consolidating in record time the country's largest customer service infrastructure for motorcycles. In less than a year, he structured and implemented an after-sales service model that became a benchmark in Latin America, introducing new business models focused on profitability and user loyalty.
Every service point we opened with Bajaj was a surgical decision.
As Country Spare Parts Manager and later General Manager at Magna Motors, Juan Carlos led the expansion of the Bajaj business in the Dominican Republic, including negotiations with international suppliers, business model design, pricing strategy, margin control and the management of imports and distribution. His comprehensive approach led him to align the sales and after-sales areas under a single strategic framework, strengthening the brand's commercial performance.
Negotiating with global headquarters requires data, but also street smarts.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional skills in supplier development, business growth strategy, customer experience, multicultural leadership and long-term vision. He has managed commercial relationships with headquarters in Japan, China, India, Germany, Brazil and Thailand, consolidating a global vision focused on sustainable results.
From the Dominican Republic to Colombia, the technical language changes, but the customer is just as demanding.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, and with a strong vocation for business leadership, Juan Carlos Andrade represents a new generation of industrial executives in Latin America: versatile, technologically informed and with the ability to transform distribution networks into integrated value platforms.
