Victor Marceles · Colombia
Víctor Marceles was Vice President of Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) at Arator.bio, a German company specialized in biotechnology and life sciences. With more than 30 years of international experience, he built a solid career in the pharmaceutical, veterinary and CropScience industries, leading global growth strategies, business development, alliances and complex licensing negotiations across Europe and Latin America.
A solid strategy isn't a plan, it's a compass with awareness of the market.
A graduate in Business Administration from Universidad Externado de Colombia and holding an MBA in Corporate Development and Business Strategy from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom (with a full scholarship granted by Bayer), Víctor complemented his education with studies in international trade and supply chain at ICAFT, in addition to speaking six languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Portuguese and Italian.
Multicultural leadership requires knowing how to listen before wanting to lead.
For more than 20 years he worked at Bayer, where he held key positions such as Global Director of Business Development and Licensing for Bayer Animal Health, Global Brand Director for veterinary products, and Global Herbicides Portfolio Director at Bayer CropScience. He led multicultural teams and high-impact projects, managing portfolios of up to 300 million euros, post-patent agreements and new market entry strategies focused on profitability and efficiency.
Before Bayer, he was Supply Chain Manager and Commercial Manager in the Andean countries, leading complex integrations such as the merger of Aventis CropScience into the Bayer group. His career also included operational and logistics roles at Böhler, Merck de Colombia and Navemar S.A., which cemented his cross-functional understanding of industrial and commercial operations.
Managing in Germany isn't the same as negotiating in Colombia, but the ethics must be the same.
After his time at Bayer, he took on the role of Corporate Head of M&A and Alliances at Procaps Group for six years, where he designed financial models, led strategic negotiations and strengthened the company's international presence in the pharmaceutical sector. He later joined Arator.bio as Senior Vice President, focusing on mergers, acquisitions and business development in biotechnology with a global vision.
Any deal without a strategic purpose is just an expensive transaction.
In parallel, Víctor was a professor of Corporate Strategy and Marketing at Universidad de la Costa (CUC) in Colombia, standing out as a developer of leaders with an international perspective. He also joined the board of the Colegio Alemán de Barranquilla, reaffirming his commitment to educational excellence and binational inter-institutional collaboration.
At Bayer I learned that German rigor can coexist with Latin creativity.
Recognized for his strategic approach, multilingual skills and ability to execute in multicultural contexts, Víctor has been a key driver of transformations in high-impact companies, combining critical thinking, global vision and rigorous, results-oriented execution.
