Carlos Gama Grupo Quimmco: corporate governance and real profitability

One of the central threads of the conversation was the role of the finance area in defining the strategic direction of a manufacturing company. According to Carlos Gama Grupo Quimmco, “the finance person isn't a record keeper, they are a builder of decisions.” In that sense, he drove the professionalization of the finance function through value indicators, dashboards and decision-making structures based on reliable data.

We also talked about his experience in debt restructuring processes, the design of profitability matrices and his role as an advisor to boards of directors. All with a clear premise: finance must serve the business, not stand above it.

Financial digital transformation and long-term planning

Carlos shared his experience leading financial digital transformation within the group: from the implementation of ERP systems to the generation of real-time dashboards. For him, it's not just about digitalizing processes, but about redesigning the way decisions are made. This includes training teams, rethinking accounting processes and achieving full traceability of business unit performance.

In the conversation we also discussed how industrial financial strategy in Latin America requires a flexible approach: regulatory adaptation, interest rate volatility, currency exposure and business models across multiple jurisdictions. Carlos explained how to balance long-term planning with the need to react quickly in contexts like Mexico's.

A profile that brings together ethics, vision and sustainability

Beyond the technical side, Carlos stands out for his human leadership. He has been a mentor to young professionals, a speaker on corporate finance topics and a promoter of management models based on transparency, consistency and sustainability. His management focused not only on financial results, but also on building organizations that endure.

An essential conversation for CFOs, general managers and industrial leaders looking to connect numbers with purpose.
